GENERAL INFORMATION In Finland there are about 14,7 % of the population (5,29 millions of inhabitants) that have some kind of thyroid disturbance. Thyroid failure influences the person widely and might affect the progression even of other internal diseases. The purpose od The Thyroid Foundation of Finland is to develop and further the care and rehabilitation of the thyroid patient, to improve his/hers social security and to promote the research of thyroid disease. In the activities of Thyroid Foundation of Finland it is also payed regard to the family of the thyroid patient. The Thyroid Foundation of Finland co-operates also with other organizations that are working for public health and takes part of the international community.
